The annual JFS campaign collects funds to support services for older adults, including Homemaker, Lifeline, and case management; subsidized counseling for families on limited incomes; financial assistance for families in distress; outreach to interfaith families; and the Teen Life Counts suicide prevention program. 

The following stories show how we have helped people who had nowhere else to turn.

“Deborah” was scared and overwhelmed, her life unraveling. She battled anxiety and depression after a painful divorce. Then due to downsizing, she lost her job. Our professional staff helped her through her darkest days, supported her in finding a new career, and helped her to refocus her energies to create a new and healthier life. 

“Frances” is 96 years old and still lives independently in her own apartment. As she said, “I just hated making this call to JFS. It's so hard to face the loss of my independence. You made it easier to ask for the services I need right now. Thanks.” 

We will continue to be there with your help and support. That is why we are turning to you, so that when the next person in need turns to Jewish Family Service for help, we will be there.
