Resettlement
Relocating to a new city can be difficult, but moving to another country with a different language and culture can be bewildering. For over 25 years, JFS has been assisting refugees from the former Soviet Union and other countries relocate to New Orleans.
JFS resettlement services include:
- Helping clients find a new home
- Assisting clients in finding proper employment
- Enrolling children in schools
- Providing ongoing help for older adult refugees
JFS’ Resettlement Caseworker is familiar with the trials and strains of resettling and can communicate with Russian immigrants in their native language.
